What is the WNBA?
The WNBA stands for Women's National Basketball Association. The WNBA is a basketball league for women. They play in the United States and it is very professional. It is basically the counterpart for the NBA. The WNBA was founded in 1996 on April 24 and they started playing in 1997. The season lasts from June to September. The playoffs start in mid-September and end in early October. The WNBA was not the first professional women’s league to be founded, but it is the only league to have full backing from the NBA.

Now here is the interview:
Q:What does it feel like to play in the WNBA?
A:It was a really cool experience to be able to put on a WNBA uniform because it'd been a dream of mine since I was younger!
Q:How many people come to try outs?
A:The team members from the previous year return to training camp and then there are probably an additional 6-8 players that are trying to make it if there's an open spot.
Q:Do you have to train everyday?
A:No, you don't practice every single day. You usually get a day off after a game, depending on when the next game is.
Q:What would you tell people to work on if they wanted to play in the WNBA?
A:I'd say to work on every aspect of your physical game that you possibly can, especially when coaches tell you what your weaknesses are. Be able to accept criticism about your game & let it make you better.
Q:Are your and your team really close? If not how does that effect your game?
A:As is with most teams, some players are closer to some people than they are with others. When you're in a professional league, and even in college, your level of maturity has to be one that doesn't let personal issues affect your play on the court. But I will say that a strong bond off the court tends to result in much better chemistry on the court.
Q:If you see other WNBA players outside of a game are you very competitive?
A:Haha no, I'm not that kind of person.
Q:Do you get really nervous before your game?
Yes lol, I have butterflies before every game, no exceptions!
Q:How do you stay in shape?
A:Practicing and having games almost every day is a pretty sure way to stay in game shape. And other than that, weight lifting plays a key part, in my opinion.
Q:Is healthy eating a big part of staying fit?
A:Healthy eating is definitely an important part of staying fit. Treat your body well so that it can work well for you in return.
